Husband cannot walk fast but enjoys walking along the High Street and a coffee, with a visit to one or two shops. The reduced parking will lead to us spending less time in Whitchurch unless I leave him to have coffee alone whilst I shop, which reduces his enjoyment of our time in town together

3 hours is a struggle. 2 hours just isn't going to be enough.
Trade will drop in the town

I still use the shops on the high street but when finished I now drive to Sainsbury’s rather than popping into Tesco. It’s a mean spirited move by Tesco and I hope it hits them financially rather than the other shops in town.

I'm damn sure that one of the conditions for the planning permission for Tesco was that the car park had to have a 3 hour limit as it was a community car park. To allow time for people to use both Tesco and the shops in the town.
The car park is now controlled by a private parking company Tesco may own it but they have let a private parking company run it as a profit making concern. Tesco see very little of that. The reduction in hours suits the PCC as it increases their profit.
Whenever PCCs get involved in town car parks it is the customers and businesses that suffer

This is supposed to be a community carpark. 2 hours is no time at all to visit the town, use the swimming pool and shop at Tesco. It's almost as if they don't want to to visit the town!

I regularly shop in Tesco and leave my car there whilst I visit other shops and facilities in the town, the new parking restriction will mean I shall now shop at Sainsbury's and not really stay to use other facilities in Whitchurch.

To go shopping for food and then to the hairdressers means no time for lunch or looking around the remaining shops.

I need much longer than 2 hours to do a food shop in Tesco and pop for a coffee in one of the nearby cafes afterwards

I no longer shop at Tesco as I don't have enough time to go around town and then shop at Tesco as i used to do. Now I have to go around town and then move on to Sainsbury's. Such a shame it's changed.

A disaster for the elderly and those with mobility issues. At the very least put in a pay and display so people can enjoy a day out in town. This is an anti human and anti trade decision. I will go to town and then shop at Lidl instead. A terrible decision by Tesco.

The car park belongs to the people Tesco deny they have implemented this so who is behind it? The council ?

I used to meet 2 friend’s regular, we’d have a coffee first, then go around the shops then lunch, then round rest of shops another coffee and home about 6 hours in all, wouldn’t be so bad if there was an option to pay for extra hours, won’t be able to do any of that anymore ☹️

Spiteful move by Tesco just as the town gets its long awaited leisure centre, as well as damaging the town traders.
