It is a nightmare driving down the bottom of Grove Road most days with cars parked on both sides. There has already been one accident. Something needs to be done and quickly!

Commuter parking is desperately needed. The side streets of Ilkley have become effectively one way only due to cars parked for the day. People seem to have forgotten their Highway Code and are parking right up to corners, blocking the view of those trying to turn out and necessitating cars to reverse back out onto the main road in many cases. It is only a matter of time before this results in an accident. I actually saw someone parked diagonally across a corner yesterday, outside the exit to a primary school at 3:30. Unbelievably selfish and downright dangerous!

too many times have I gone into town to go to specific shops and the bank and not been able to park anywhere.

I like in the centre of Ilkley and don't even have my own personal parking space, been told that if I want one in the central car park (which I live above) I would have to pay £1000 a year. Absolutely ridiculous! Some days I cannot find a parking space and have to park over 5 minutes away from my own house!
We need a full and thorough review, that takes residents into account, and the type of street they live on. In some areas, pavement parking is essential, in others it is an unnecessary nuisance; side streets should not be considered as free car parks for those driving in, but should be solely for residents. There are solutions - it just needs the will to look for them
