This should be reviewed every five years. Also need to look at on-street permit parking in the Napoleonic Area.

Need to sort out residents'parking. Maybe a park and ride and more commuter parking.

For the long term of the town in terms of residents and tourism a solution needs to be found - developing the central car park with an underground car park is a consideration previously rejected

The situation terrible particularly on Cowpasture Rioad which often is problematic and emergency vehicles would have a struggle.

Ilkley has become a very uncomfortable place to visit and to shop. The absence of car parks means that cars are parked on all the streets, often there the entire day as they belong to commuters who have driven in to catch the train. Quite dangerous too, especially for the elderly and disabled trying to get around and cross the roads.

Certainly something must be done to ease car parking not only in Ilkley centre and surrounding roads, but also in Ben Rhydding where it is becoming more and more difficult to drive in the village due to parking on both sides of the road, and on the pavements outside the shops. It seems to me that we get overflow parking from Ilkley

There are residential streets where it is dangerous to drive or be a pedestrian because of the sheer volume of cars parked on both sides of the road and on the pavement.

Additional commuter parking essential, freeing up other town centre parking for shoppers and visitors

Most of the time I do find somewhere to park as I know Ilkley very well. However, to be handed a £80 fine at 8am on Sunday morning after leaving your car in Ilkley car park on Saturday evening because you are being safe and getting a taxi home is a joke. We can’t do right for doing wrong. At least extend the time to 10am on a Sunday morning?!

I note that in Bridge Lane there are police notices warning that parking on pavements is illegal so why is it it being tolerated on Cowpasture Road particularly when traffic is being diverted down this road

The streets of Ilkey have for a long time been congested as a result of commuter parking. It seems to me that the old Spooner's site, currently owned by Tescos, would be an ideal site.

Commuters using the railway must be provided with proper off street parking and discouraged from using free on street parking. Ilkley is about the worst small town I know for driving and parking. A polite word would be a shambles. I think the residents, visitors and commuters deserve better.

The traffic and parking situation in Ilkley is completely anarchic and a number of problems need to be tackled urgently. The major problem is on street parking of commuters using the railway, leaving hundreds of cars clogging the streets all day. It is quite unpleasant to walk or drive in Ilkley because of the danger of parked vehicles blocking lines of site and the responses of some drivers to these conditions. A full and detailed review of traffic and parking is urgently required so that a detailed action plan can be drawn up.
