Car Parking in Ilkley

There is a lot of selfish and thoughtless parking in Ilkley when able-bodied people will not walk a small distance in order to park considerately. I also notice that disabled parking is frequently abused. I am fortunate and am able to walk a reasonable distance after parking but I would like to think that should I ever need a disabled permit then they would not be occupied by people who are not.

I live on Weston Road - this is used to park all day for the shopworkers so it is impossible to park near your house unless before 9am or after 6pm. The playhouse causes problems most evenings with double parking. Shoppers just popping or delivery drivers also double park during the day causing problems with people getting past. Delivery lorries often go round to the lishmans car park and j have lost count of times I have gone out of my house to guide them through. Living here my car has had 2 hits from other cars with no notes left! Really needs double yellow lines down one side. Also a free parking place for shopworkers or resident parking zones please

i live in the very center of Ilkley and official parking is needed for people visiting the town so that they don't park in the spaces of home owners. I often find a car parked in front of my path blocking it totally so that I cannot leave the house with my daughter in her pram.

I live on Railway road and can not park my own car due to commuters leaving their cars all day along this road!

I think we need more parking in ilkley as I live up Cowpasture road & people who get the train to work or going shopping in ilkley always park up here & I'm sick & tired of not being able to park outside or near my home. I have to park nearly everyday a 5 or 10 min walk away ridiculous & also trying to park anywhere in ilkley is always a problem for any resident

Please look at cars, including residents, blocking pavements and parking permits

The parking in Ilkley is so bad now that it is an accident waiting to happen.

Ilkley is swamped with commuter cars during the week. Illegal pavement parking is rife, with no police action to curb it evident at all. Try walking safely down Wells Road! Let's have proper off street parking as a matter of priority.

Parking which obstructs pavements should be heavily penalised. Provision of realistically priced commuter parking (ex-Spooners site?) should be a prime objective.

Great problems with bad on street parking

Parking on both sides of Grove Road near the junction with Kings Road should be prohibited.

So bad in parts of ilkley public service vehicles cannot get through. Something needs to be done!

Ilkley is grinding to a halt as cars park both sides of busy roads-all day!

Pavement parking is now rife in Ilkley causing major problems to pedestrians, the disabled and mothers with pushchairs. Plans should be in place for necessary amount of off street parking before someone is injured or killed.

Skipton has 4 large car parks, Ilkley has one it is time other car parks were provided.
