Ilkley was once one of the most desirable towns in the north of England to live in . No longer, thanks to Bradford Council's failure to address the town's issues like the car parking problem.

During the 2015 election campaign Kris Hopkins promised us a full review of parking in Ilkley. Nothing has happened!

A park and ride car park at ben Rhydding station would be a boon to commuters who current park near Ilkley Station.

Serious parking on pavements, junctions and opposite driveways. Parking on both sides of the streets, effectively making them 'one way'. Have to walk in the road as cars are parked on the pavements. We do have effective laws, but they are not imposed by the police!

Parking in Ilkley is becoming a danger to all road users. Cars are abandoned rather than parked and cause mayhem. Something has to be done.

i live on trafalgar road where there are persistent problems with parking. I have had my car scrapped once and written off by a truck 3 months ago with a child sat in the back. Luckily he was fine. People also park up and leave their cars for days at a time whilst going off on the train. There are so many cars double parking on most of the streets in ilkley it is difficult to cross safely especially for children and slower walkers. An accident will happen soon. As its always so busy people are getting fed up of waiting and being polite they are getting angry much quicker and take more risks putting there foot down to get passed other cars in 30mph zones. The situation is getting more dangerous for everyone and something actually needs to be done not just talked about.

Parking needs sorting

Spaces at roadsides could be made by painting divisions for each car. I'm always seeing badly parked cars taking up another 1/2 cars space

More parking is essential not only in the interests of Ilkley as a town but also for safety . Try driving up grove road and cow pasture road!

Additional car parking provision is essential if Ilkley is to be able to receive the visitors which are essential to the social and economic welfare of the town.

Extra car parking is required. Double yellow lines at the hotspots will only push the problem elsewhere. Drivers parking on the footpath and drivers causing an obstruction by double parking are committing an offence. Book them!

and then turn your attention to inconsiderate speeding drivers in built up areas.

More parking is needed as a matter of priority. Extending double yellows and permit schemes will not resolve the issue on their own. Commuters & shoppers need and are entitled to somewhere suitable (and reasonably priced) to park their cars. This is essential for the town to thrive and has been long overlooked.
