Cheers to ALL who are supporting this very neglected issue. A Dual teacher does dual the work both in the classrooms and out of the classroom spending many hours translating materials and creating resources in order to meet the varied learning needs of ALL students.

As a founder of our Dual Language Program I am fully aware of the extra time and dedication of our Immersion educators. They have achieved high levels of additional training and provide exceptional instruction to our Immersion families and students. They deserve to be compensated!

My son also attends a dual immersion program through Long Beach Unified SD. Elementary and now a middle school DI program. He has received an exceptional education and I have always been so impressed with the hard working teachers and all the efforts that are put into these students to learn basic skills in both English and Spanish! Its amazing and wonderful!

Being able to speak in another language should be considered a skill, it is a “plus”, this should be reflected on the pay.
