I am a Shore Acres resident. Very inadequate cell phone reception forces us to maintain a landline and pay for long distance calls that would be free on our cells. I understand that one of the objections is asthetic, but the tower is not visible from most vantage points, and I don't see how adding the cell component would change that much.

Weak signal yields battery burn out high EMF (electro magnetic frequencies) which is harmful/carcinogenic. Dropped calls means dropped business thus a hardship

Really bad coverage on Shore Road where we have a condo. Makes no sense.

YES YES YES. I have an infant and have only ever had a cell phone (no landline), I do NOT want to be in a situation where I cannot call for help. I grow increasingly frustrated that I live 5 miles from the state's largest city and yet I cannot keep a phone call connected.

a cell phone tower is needed - maybe next to the Ft. Williams fire station building?

Absolutely a no brainer! Why the town would involve itself in a suit with Verizon on behalf of a few people is beyond me. This site is well concealed, would create minimal noise and would have little impact on traffic. Improved safety and communication would greatly be enhanced along the entire coastal area of Cape Elizabeth.
