I’ve been affiliated with Canyon Oaks longer than anyone, before it was a golf course or a development. I walked the canyon with Jim Summers who laid out the course, helped with the planning and development of the project and one of the original 400 members... 30+ years Supporting the club, I’ve never had occasion to speak out. Till now anyway. Perhaps well-intentioned, your letter to the membership Shows a complete and utter disconnect from the members of our club and I’m sure others. We are all in damage control mode, but none of us send letters to our clients justifying much less underscoring the importance of payment.
Members of Canyon Oaks appreciate those who make the club run well, safely and efficiently. Going forward We hope AG handles CV in a manner that creates goodwill, builds confidence in management, and ultimately builds membership..

As a retired bank executive and a finance major in college with a MBA in finance, I would love to review your plans! Given the current situation l struggle with your recent email! In college I wrote my senior project paper on building and operating a golf course and my MBA thesis on the same thing. As a member of your board of I would have serious questions about your leadership at this point given the current situation we face at this time!

Hana Khouri is CEO of Drive Shack of which American Golf is a subsidiary. The company is based in New York. These people only care about profits. In 2017 they had 4000 or more employees and now they have around 1200. It looks like a Buy, Crush and Sell corporation. They sold 11 courses in 2018. They don't give a s**t about people.

20% reduction in dues does not reflect the current situation across this nation. Payment deferral and/or a much higher reduction in rate is warranted here. I will cancel my membership if this is not changed to reflect a fair amount given the current situation.

They’re probably running on 20% of their normal budget so the numbers are skewed backwards. We should be getting an 80% discount.

I agree that the 20% reduction in membership dues is to little since all the club services and facilities have been and will be closed for sometime. The question is , are the employees being paid full salary while the club is closed or are they filling for unemployment. The reduction in membership dues needs to made more transparent to the membership

Please consider online check in, starter using outdoor speaker, Canyon Oaks bag tag required , and raise cups 1/2 inch out of hole similar to Table Mountain golf course. Hire more employees back to maintain course and rotate hours.

A 20% reduction in fees is not sufficient.

My tenants who own bars, and restaurants do NOT have their customers-clients who are unable to show up and purchase their product and services, they are NOT asking their customers to only pay 80% with NO product! This is ridiculous.!

American Golf, do you understand what you’re demanding of your members? Do you understand that the majority of your members are offended by these demands? Your operating costs surely have decreased by more than 20% since you laid off most of your staff and you don’t have to pay for food and tees and toilet paper, and your electric and water bills are decreased due to closure of the club. To require us to pay 100% of membership fees for 2 months of no service and then 80% fees for however many months more, PLUS range and trail fees, is unconscionable. You will lose the respect, and more importantly it seems for you , the money from a large cohort of members who will cancel their memberships if you don’t reconsider your position. I am a small business owner who has to stay open and retain all my employees in the face of a significant decrease in income. You are providing no services and virtualy no employment in this community. Believe me, when I consider what I can afford with my significantly smaller income, a golf membership with no golf will be one of the first “luxuries” I will forego.

Would like to see dues reduced further. As a social member I think 30-50% of the normal cost would be fair to cover non-golf related fixed costs.

I think we all recognize that the Club will have ongoing costs for maintenance and have no problem with some ongoing dues payment; 80% is way too much and their should be no range ball, cart, or locker costs included. I would love to see some honest transparency of the current costs to American Golf to maintain COCC.
