There are thousands of people that have worked hard all their lives and children that born that has or has come down with all different types of cancer and that have to apply for disability and not only does that take 6 months or longer to get but they maybe eligible for ssi and medicaid. The only down fall of this is sometimes the medicaid only last 6 months and then they are without insurance meaning they cannot get the treatments they need to able to stay alive or live a long life. They did not choose to have cancer but our state is punishing them and their families when they stop their medicaid. Doesn't this state know people have to live, we have rent or mortgages, food, clothing, insurance, other medical expenses and etc. We go to the state for help and the state acts like if you make any money you don't need the help. I myself am disabled and draw disability but my husband has come down with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and we are told he can draw medicaid for 6 months and 17 dollars a month because my check is to large I get barely over 1000.00 a month for us to live on and now they are taking away his medicaid but he will not get disability for 6 months and they say medicare will not start for 2 years after his disability starts. How are we suppose to live and get his medical issues taking care of. Everyone needs to unite not only for us but for anyone who is going through this and lets put a stop to people who have cancer losing medicaid until takes over medicare is available for these people who really need it. I know we are not the only family going through this so please help me make our voices be heard.
