Incidentally, I am banned from posting on the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department facebook page due to my questioning their policy of turning-off people's water. For those who think of this as a "can't pay, won't pay" issue, remember that it is also a PUBLIC HEALTH issue. Epidemics start easily in areas with poor sanitation but they can spread to the posh parts of town very quickly. TYPHUS & CHOLERA are no longer a problem in developed countries because of access to clean water for drinking, bathing and washing. Shut-off that access and it is only a matter of time before they become a problem once more.

When I was a child Water was free as it should be now because it belongs to everyone not just some privilaged few and it is positively necessary for survival. . My father used to say "Next thing you know they'll be charging us for water" Well now they are. So what's next? Will they find a way to measure the air we breath? Water belongs to all of us so lets make it free.

It's the Milagro Beanfield War combined with The Magic Journey, Detroit style. This very game has been played before. The power gangsters will create any fiction to dispose of disenfranchised people.

Detroit needs to consider very seriously establishing a "Detrot Bank" in the form of the state bank in North Dekota. If you are not familar with the concept, Google "Ellen Brown".

Detroit residents pays more than any other city that the water board supplies water to! Why is that? If I own a product and supply my product to others it would be at a higher rate not lower!
