I'd rather have one more day in June because I have nothing stressing due on the last week of school. But I do have like a lab, two huge tests, and a reading due on Friday so I'd rather have no school tomorrow.

This sudden change in schedule is not only inconvenient, but is also a danger. Many BCA students live an hour or more away, and just driving to school takes up 1/12 of their day (or more). The streets and highways will be covered with ice tomorrow morning due to the ice and snow mixing, and since getting to school already takes a long time, there is no telling what might happen on the dangerous roads. We have only taken up one snow day and still have several in the year. Having one day cancelled due to the weather will not affect anything in June.

With all due respect, there are many other alternatives than to extend the school day. Why don't we just cancel school altogether due to the poor weather and it being a half day already? If the day is cancelled and counted as a "snow day," there will be no need to make up this day later. At least, make up our half day for another day in the week. A majority of students had plans tomorrow to either catch up on work, rest, or simply meet with their friends, and these activities would be the first time in a while for many students. This sudden change is unfair to the BCA students and may affect our performance for tomorrow, as you know we work very hard and these days are the ones we look forward to the most. Please reconsider cancelling the school day.

I am totally for having a half day but, in reality, this petition will not much. As much as I love petitions and signing them especially on change.org this most defiantly, unfortunately, not going to change the outcome of tomorrow's full day. Although we may live in a democratic society people under 18 aren't truly part of that and, schools opening and closing are for the most part out of most people's hands. Even administration won't be able to do much about this dire situation. Another thing that I should mention is that the email mentioned the proposed alternative was to have the half day but, add an extra day in June and I am sure that this idea would be more opposed. I understand it really really sucks because now everyone has to cancel their plans. Also, keep this in mind 70 million children around the world are currently not getting an education and don't have the option to do so, and we all should be very grateful that we have a school to go to even if it is very stressful and you have 2 tests and 100 quizzes tomorrow. If you wanna sign the petition sign it, I mean I probably will.
