Romote is more efficient. Parents don't have to worry about getting to the site on time because of train issues and gas prices is going up and SC's that drive no one will reimburse them if someone is a no show.

We must continue to be flexible to the needs and concerns of the children and families we serve. We have seen the telehealth practice remains an effective and necessary option for a variety of reasons and should not stop offering it.

traveling to meetings is time consuming for all parties. osc also dont get paid for travel time so we are less productive and it effects our bottom line. parents also say it can mean taking off half a day to travel from NYC office to Westchester for a 30m meeting. They loose time at work and sometimes cant get the time off. There is no big advantage to in person versus virtual meetings. It is an antiquated procedure. Parents can be offered an in-person meeting if they would like it but it should be OPTIONAL.

The positive far outweigh the cons for having in person meeting. The job of an SC is never ending; adding traveling to the equation will not be beatifical to all parities including our global environment.

As NYC is currently experiencing another wave of Covid Omicron, I feel that the decision to return to in person meetings is premature and unsafe for all - parents, service coordinators and EIOD.

I BELIEVE IT IS TIME FOR EARLY INTERVENTION TO KEEP UP WITH TECHNOLOGY:
For the past 2.5 years, virtual therapy and meetings have kept Early Intervention afloat.
Why are coordinators required to go in person when telehealth services have proven to be effective?
Returning to in-person causes a decline in caseload due to commuting time, which results in a decrease in productivity.
This decision affects not only SC and parents, but the entire city.
Why does BEI want to take away our ability to work effectively and efficiently virtually?

SC have proven to show IFSP meetings held virtually has been very efficient for both parent and SC. The parent is able to have the meeting at their best convenience without having to call out of work. Keep in mind Gas price are high, tolls are expensive and parking around the regional offices are difficult to find. The rooms for IFSP meetings are small and no ventilation. It is unfair for families/children to attend in person meetings when vaccination is not mandated on their end. Please help us to remain safe by keeping all meeting remote.

My families and I support keeping IFSP meetings via phone. Prior to phone IFSPs families were burdened with traveling during inclement weather, many times with small children or needing to secure child care and adjust work schedules. Having meetings by phone has resulted in faster meeting scheduling and therefore quicker onset of delivery of services for our developmentally delayed infants and toddlers.

Please also keep in mind that there are auto immune deficiency people that need to be extra careful. The rooms for the meetings will not allow any social distancing.

As an active Initial and Ongoing Service Coordinator, it is much more efficient to continue the use of remote meetings. Parents are able to show up to the meetings with no cancellations, and services are authorized within a timely manner.
Making every IFSP Meeting mandatory to be in-person will only create unnecessary strain on SC's, EIOD's, and families. This policy is also archaic in the new workplace and continues the risk of spreading COVID-19, as we are still needing to adapt to living with this disease.

EI is supposed to be family centered. Why are we going to start making families travel for IFSP meetings when they can easily ne done over the phone. We have less IFSP cancellations bc of this. It doesn't make sense to force families to travel for meetings. It also doesn't make sense that families are required to travel for these meetings but therapists have the choice to deliver services in person or via telehealth. That isn't being a family centered program. Not to mention the fact that us SC's are more productive in helping our families when we dont need to travel to RO's for meetings or waste time with no show appointments. SC's sacrifice time spent with our own families to help our EI families. Having phone IFSP's help all parties including the family, the SC's AND the EIOD/RO's. There are more pros than cons of having phone meetings.

Parents and service coordinators prefer meetings over the phone as they do not have to take time off from work and worry about finding parking at the regional offices which has horrible parking.
Lets please continue with remote IFSP meetings.
