I find myself busier than any other year with the college admissions process around this time and cannot exempt from any exams as the majority of mine are either AP or dual enrollment.

Already, many AP classes are forced to meet before school or over the weekend in order to fully prepare their students for the upcoming AP tests. Many VCU classes face the same predicament, even though there isn't a standardized test at the end of the year, teachers need as much class time as they can to teach their students a full college curriculum. Even before these snow days, exams stand as a burden to teachers and students who wish to learn as much as they can within a given school year. With these recent snow days, it is imperative that exams are cancelled, so all students can learn all of the necessary material for their classes. Furthermore, shortly after exams, it is expected that more snow will come. If we cancel exams now, it will create a buffer so that teachers can accommodate for the lost time in February. However, if we do not cancel exams and we get more snow in February, it is likely that teachers will have to take short cuts, such as Saturday school or cutting information out of the curriculum in order to prepare their students for AP and final exams. This leads to unprepared and stressed out students as they see their workload pile up as a result of Mother Nature, which we have no control over.
