Mid terms dont have any positive effect on students grades, finals are useful but midterms are pointless

I agree with this petition. There is no way we will have enough time to cover everything we need to know for the exams by next week in two days. And if so, the teachers will teach us too fast and we will basically gain no knowledge and our brains will be filled with so much information that we will inevitably forget everything. Also, so many students will stress out about the idea that their grades might be devastatingly affected because of this. I do not see a purpose for mid-terms after a long, not necessarily needed winter break. It imposes too much stress on the students AND on the teachers. We have more important things to worry about, like the AP Exams and SOLs in May. We need to focus on those, not Mid-Terms. SOLs and AP Exams decide our future, but Mid-Terms ultimately do not.

the teachers are going to try to cram more work on top of up because of the days missed last week and now today. Having midterms and only 4 days to study for them is not a good option. It sets students up for failure
