It draws prostitutes who stand barely clad on street corners at all hrs of the night. The revving of the bikes never stops although there is a noise ordinance in the city. It's not fair to people who pay good money to come here. They'll never come back during black bike week once they've seen what goes on. This week pulls bikers from all major cities, gangs, drugs & now murderers. Please end this festival of hoodlums. The otracities of Black Bike week was in USA today- a free paper that is given out thru the U.S.

How you say the city doesn't earn any revenue when a 69.00 a night hotel turns into 299.00 a night....and they make for damn sure they your card information during reservation. ..NO CASH.....and lol clubs that are usually free charging cover prices and selling ridiculous high alcohol....oh and let's not forget they serve alcohol way after 2am....all restaurants are open all day and I spoke to several residents who enjoyed getting over time at work......i don't condone violence but I do condone fairness and for residents predominantly white residents to talk junk about us black bikers as if are a disease but yet turn around and take my money, that's what needs to stop period

First of all to those that have not been and knows nothing.......we are there for bike and car shows and unity of all bike clubs.....those involved in the event that took place this year was from the lovely state of SC not those coming across state lines.....Secondly ocean blvd looking like a 3rd world country is the states fault...we didn't request every officer in town to stand on the corner and harass us for nothing.....truth be told most of us blacks had been in the city for a week b4 the shooting took place on Saturday and I am sick of being blamed for some fucking gangbangers who I don't even associate with...and lastly if you shut down black bike week then we will just be there a week early for Harley week and see how that works :)

Shootings, theth, and ect. goes on everywhere, everyday. I am not saying this is right by no means. They main thing I see here is that the city wants to cancel Black Bike Week just because they are not making any money. The event is for bikers to be able to get up and get together. I hate that violence has to happen but we can't help others that want to be stupid.

The first problem is that it is considered black bike week. It should just be bike week. I think being put in a category fuels the need for attention and acting out in a cruel manner. Call it what it is BIKE WEEK. And I'm pretty sure the senseless acts of violence would fade away.

MB touts itself as the premier family destination spot on the east coast. Take a look at a phone book for the area....full of escort services and topless dance clubs...( year round attractions...also frequently advertised on local radio and billboards) Now let's add the hedonistic biker events during the summer...who are we kidding?? You can't have it both ways MB. The sad truth is MB is a DUMP..I live on the strand and Don't even drive through MB unless I have to. Vacationing families from other states are lured here by fancy advertising and the reputation of an era gone by.

Just another example of what I have observed for years in MB. The city touts itself as the premier family destination spot on the east coast. Take a look at a telephone book for the MB area....full of escort services and nude dance clubs...(year round attraction) now add these hedonistic biker events during the summer. MAKE UP YOUR MIND MYRTLE BEACH ...YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!! The truth is MB is in fact a DUMP. Vacationing families are lured here by fancy advertising and the area reputation from years gone by. Look I went there this year and I had fun, yes fun. I been going down there since 1990. There was never no shooting then, its the new generation, that's coming up, that make this event bad. Don't stop it put a age on it, give rules, just like anything else. I don't understand SC laws but i have to abide by them when I come down, enforce a law and put it in writing, this event has been going on just like the Harley Davis are you trying to stop that, no you are not, so if you do stop black bike week also stop white bike week.

this will never happen no matter how many signatures you get. al sharpton and jesse jackson would be here so fast with so many lawyers to sue the city, it wouldn't even be funny.

I understand that Myrtle Beach does not sponsor black beach week, but Horry County needs to put pressure on Atlantic Beach to cancel this event. No money is made by Myrtle Beach on this event as the police spend extra money for outside officers, overtime for police personnel, cleanup services, etc. This needs to end and Myrtle Beach needs to sponsor a week for the veterans instead.

Black Bike Week is just full of senseless violence and theft. People have been trying to put an end to it for years. It is just another reason for the rest of the nation to look down on South Carolina. It needs to go soon!!!

After the recent chain of events that took place over the weekend; I agree that this needs to be shut down. How many more acts of violence does it take to them to realize this is not beneficial to anyone? I myself is an African American and I believe if people can't enjoy themselves without shooting or fighting, then pull the plug. People can cut up at home instead of making it bad for everyone else.

Please put an end to memorial day bike week!! Ive never really been against it until this year. I use to think people were against it because they were racist, but now I know everyone is over it! The killings this year should be enough to put a stop to it! We as a town/county need to take a stand! It has nothing to do with race it is a matter of respect to this city/county and the people who live here! This is OUR TOWN!!! TAKE IT BACK!!!

This has got to stop. We who live here are sick of it.
Harley Week comes in and we don't have anything like this going on. Please stop this event or move it to a cold month where us locals can somewhat move around. And remove this event during a time where we recognize the men and women who have sacrificed and served. So tourists can come in and have a pleasant vacation holiday.
