Canadian In Session Followers Want It Back Aug.30,2010 CTV rebands Tru TV to Investigative Discovery. The rebanding was due to a "contract issue." Approx. two weeks before this on Court TV Canada an advertisment would pop up saying that begining Aug.30, Tru TV would become Investigative Discovery. To my knowledge there was no talk of dropping In Session, in fact if you look on Tru TV's site there is a section with an interview with one of the hosts of In Session (Ryan Smith) and someone asks will In Session be dropped when the new changes come? The answer is "absolutely not." Obviously they didn't know how much it would change for Canada either. No notices in our cable or satalite bills, just taken off the air with no explanation. Only after several of us emailing CTV, Investigative Discovery along with many other people we found out it was due to a contract issue. So, they replace it with Investigative Discovery. (this is Canada's court tv now) Investigative Discovery has such programs as W5, Prison Wives, UFO stories, to name a few. These programs can be found on A&E, Biography channel and other stations I am sure. They did not replace or surpass In Session with the programs they have. In Session is the only program you can watch live court room trials as they are happening. Canada does not allow video or voice recordings of trials inside it's court rooms. Some of In Session fans have watched the program for 20 years and they are very upset with this change. One of the cases that alot of us have been following is the Casey Anthony case. Unless you live under a rock I am sure you have heard about her. Several hearings are happening right now and we only can see updates on them on evening news, Nancy Grace, etc. I expect this will be as big as the OJ Simpson trial. Where will Canadians watch it? There is no more In Session in Canada. Will everyone be satisfied to just get updates on the case? I for one will not be. In Session is one of a kind program with in depth look into the laws and consequences of peoples actions in America. Only In Session can provide us with this knowledge of the court system step by step and with such depth. If you want to see live court trials join us in our fight to get In Session back asap.
