Feminisms are a critique of structural inequality and transgender and gender diverse people suffer structural violence disproportionately because they do not have et protections afforded by law to cisgender persons. Pass bill C-16.

Including gender expression and gender identity in our Human Rights Code, does not take away the rights of cis-women, or anyone's freedom of speech. The fact that people are threatened by transgender rights points to how much we need these rights, and the government to support them.

This is not a difficult decision and there is only one way to go. Pass this bill and help Canada lead the way by granting our citizens who are highly marginalized basic human rights.

I believe this bill to be a vital step in supporting and protecting the rights of Canadians, particularly transgender and gender diverse people who should be afforded respect and the freedom to express themselves without fear

Trans rights are human rights. As someone who studies gender and sociology, Bill C-16 is a logical step forward towards a more inclusive society.
