This is a beautiful, peacefull area full of wild flowers and wildlife. It needs to be protected not ruined. As has been said Alton already has its quota of houses and there are still other brownfield sites that are far more appropriate for development. Please leave these meadows alone

I learned on Friday evening (27th May 2016) that the meadow has been sprayed with herbicide: wanton vandalism.

I live close to another chalkland with prolific butterfly populations. These areas of natural beauty add to our species diversity and should be treasured as the world changes and we lose these valuable sites forever!
