Campaign for the implementation of a 50mph speed limit on the A50 in Smallwood.

Just sort it, you know it makes sense

It needs to have speed cameras as well. It currently has a higher speed limit than the motorway !

I used to live on Smallwood Forge and fully support this petition

There have been 15+ accidents which have occurred within a 15-20 metre radius on and around our property on the A50 in Smallwood in under 4 years. These issues don't only affect the people who live on the A50 but other road and pavement users. We have been lucky to avoid injury on our own property so far and the same applies to other residents and road users.

Let's hope we can get something done on this stretch of the A50 in or near Smallwood and make it safer for everyone locals, visitors, passers by and drivers included... The reality is any measures to help, ie reduced speed limit, cameras, improved road surface etc cannot come soon enough.. Signs (easy and quick), cameras (bit harder), roadworks (shouldn't take long, and always slowing things down, bonus!), teaching better driving skills, (hmmm tall order!!!). Here's to logic prevailing please.

I use this road daily and have had a few near misses due to the speed of other drivers

Speed cars go on the main A50 is ridiculous. Dangerous for my customers pulling out of our farm shop drive.

Cars and lorries exceeding the speed limit is an everyday occurrence on the A50 through Smallwood, we dont need one to end up as a garden feature.

I'd be happy with 40!

The vehicles travel far to quickly, pulling out from our drive is hazardous due to the speed. Vehicles seem to crash regularly damaging people's property, this is totally unacceptable. 50mph is a must for the safety of all residents and their property.

As residents we've got more then enough of cars crashing and damaging our property, it's a matter of time and someone gets killed or seriously injured. This is not acceptable.

We the above named would feel something needs to be done about all the accidents on this stretch of road. Condition of the road, speed of vehicles, lack of any signage warning of accident blackspot, etc have led to a very dangerous stretch of road.

Totally in agreement. Traffic goes far too fast along this section of the A50

Already one death and many near deaths on this road. How long until a resident gets killed in their own garden !
