Française je réside souvent a Venezia, le plus que je peux, je respecte et j'aime cette ville et ses habitants - il faut une Venise vénitienne, qui loge les étudiants, des familles simples, avec des commerces de proximité... Le tourisme ne doit pas asphyxier la ville, et stop aux grandi navi! Venezia a besoin de respect.

The present situation in Venice is such a tragedy. You have a beautiful, unique city, steeped in history and tradition and we hope that governments wake up and take action to preserve it!

I am so glad my friend and computer wizzard Paul Rosenberg asked me to translate this statement for a Campaign to help Venitians save their Endangered World Hertitage city. I have seen a documentary on TV5 about the terrible problem caused by cruise ship tourism and hope many of my friends (In US and France) will add their signature of support to this campaign.

It was very sad to see so many giant cruises going through the Canal Grande of Venice. Good luck with the campaign.
