This should be in the countryside or next door to the councillors that came up with the plan .
I've seen one of the traveller sites in Bradford and the crime went up by 80%

I live in Wheatley and this concerns me that it will plummet house prices and people’s perceptions of the area will be impacted by this.

I strongly object to this area being utilised as a travellers site. I understand the law required you to provide a site for travellers but I thought the whole reason why they are not part of society per se is because they want to be transient not static. Some, cause mayhem due to the nature of how they want to live and not conform to rules or laws, this is their choice. But please do not upset the majority of law abiding citizens for the minority. One big traveller family already have asbos against them.
This particular site is not suitable for residential development due to the gas emissions as stated previously by the Local
Authority. It had also been suggested it may be suitable as a leisure complex. Do something for the community as a whole!

As a local resident and business owner, this is extremely concerning. As many others have stated, this site is extremely close to/on the main road. Current members of the community will feel unsafe walking this route should a site be built. Considering areas in which other sites have been built, crime rates and impact on local services and amenities also need to be considered.
The impact on the local wildlife and environment is also a major concern which should be at the forefront of councillors' minds when decision making.
As others have indicated, the town is undergoing major regeneration and a site this close to the city centre is likely to have a detrimental effect on regeneration, particularly due to the visibility from and proximity to the road. Surely it would be better for residents and current members of the community as well as the travelling community for the site to be built in a location more secluded from a main road; preferably in an area that is disused already and not blooming with wildlife which would inevitably be destroyed in the process.
My final point, which others have already mentioned, is the concern to property value in the area. Homes take long enough to sell as it is, this potential site would only exacerbate this. These potential plans require a serious rethink!

I have a teenage daughter who walks that route on a regular basis. There is no other way to walk without passing this site which is so close to the main road. She and many others like her will not feel safe. Please choose another site which is away from main roads and away from public view so they can get on with their lives in privacy. We lived near a site such as this before and they urinated and defacated in public view around the site. I think you are asking for a lot of trouble and forsee many complaints from the public having the site here.
