I do not support the rezoning of petition #17-01. We have no shortage of various commercial properties in Waxhaw. This rezoning proposal would add a tremendous negative impact to the traffic concerns that already exist.

I live in the Oaks off providence and having a large commercial place right across the street would be devastating.

Expand Prov Road before additional construction!

We moved to a Waxhaw for its small town charm. The Oaks in Providence neighborhood would also be greatly impacted by this development, yet we were not made aware of the rezoning. Traffic in this area on Providence Road cannot support this size of a project.

Growth is inevitable, and, if it's done well, it's good. However, uncontrolled commercial growth that outstrips our county's and Waxhaw's capacity to accommodate increased traffic, is not good. We already have a significant traffic problem on Hwy 16 (Providence/Broome) in Waxhaw and relief from it is a decade away. Just STOP. Runaway commercial development will negatively impact the quality of life for residents of Waxhaw and all of western Union County. Please do NOT rezone this area along Highway 16 for more commercial development.

I am respectfully requesting that you do not re zone this parcel of land for anything other than residential in my opinion it is irresponsible and not in the best interest of WAXHAW.

We have enough development in Waxhaw. Current projects are not even completed which will cause more congestion in regards to traffic; so we don't need anymore. It is difficult and dangerous turning left onto Providence Rd. We do not need or want any more development or retail in our town. It is not needed and our infrastructure cannot handle it. Please listen to us for a change. We live in Waxhaw because we enjoy the "small" town life. Enough is enough. We cannot handle any more traffic on a two lane road where back ups are out of hand.

Waxhaw is entirely TOO small for more shopping options! The roads are bad enough as it is and I actually dislike living here now. I have lived and worked here for more than 10 years as an adult. My childhood was spent playing in Waxhaw on Providence in the lovely home that is now surrounded by Harris Tetter banks, Taco Bell and WALMART! Waxhaw is not a small town any longer and putting up any more commercial buildings will lessen the not so "homey" home of Waxhaw. Traffic is worse than it has to be.

This would add to an already nightmarish traffic problem that is growing around the neighborhoods in this area. It sometimes can take 10 minutes to turn left out of The Oaks at peak travel times. We do not need this development in Waxhaw. There are too many properties sitting clear and undeveloped in this area .

There is absolutely no way Waxhaw can handle the traffic a Costco would bring to the area on a TWO LANE ROAD! Stop the insanity!! Who is actually benefitting from this? Certainly not the residents of Waxhaw. WE DON'T WANT IT!! GO AWAY!!
