This will add too much congestion too close to downtown. Our infrastructure will not be able to support this.

Providence road cannot handle the traffic. Also, putting this in the middle of residential neighbourhoods is ridiculous. Something needs to go in that people could walk to and enjoy like a library, brewery, restaurants, etc. Not a box store! I’m not against box stores, but that location is awful.

Please do not allow this property to be developed in such a way. 1) Providence Road absolutely cannot handle the additional traffic. It is not only very difficult, but actually quite DANGEROUS to turn left on Providence in this area already. We have plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, and medical offices in Waxhaw. If residents really need to make purchases at a big box store, there are plenty of them already a short distance away. 2) I am also concerned that the Waxhaw population can't financially support even more duplicated businesses than we already have. What happens if the property is developed and the businesses later close or move out? Empty store fronts are a death-knell for small towns.

Traffic on Providence Rd is bad enough already. Please do not add to the problem by a big box store.

Please do not allow this area to be rezoned for commercial use. There is already too much traffic on Providence Road.

I strongly oppose the proposed re-zoning of this site for commercial use and this proposed use. It is not fitting for Waxhaw.

This location does not make sense for it to handle the traffic a big box store would bring. I understand we all welcome a closer Costco type store but realistically this location is the wrong one. As it is now, you can hardly take a left turn on any surrounding roads, there are limited to no traffic lights and the streets are one lane each way. The intersection at the Kensington shopping center with the new school is just an example of not planning strategically. This would be another example but on a larger scale. The mentioned location is unsafe and does not have the proper infrastructure in place. No building and figuring out how it will impact roads, neighborhoods, community vision and local merchants once the structure is there.

I recently moved here to Waxhaw two months ago, and what made me want to move here was the charm of it being a small town that is off the beaten trail. Although is being developed with communities, it is nice to keep the big box stores out off the main roads (I.e Providence Road) for us to travel too. Please don't let our decision in hindsight to move here be a regretted one.
