As a concerned mom of my 12 yo, I have been following the news of mRNA vaccination on kids. Indeed, I am on heightened alert, after receiving news of the death of the 13 yo in US. Initially, I felt pressurised from the repeated slew of announcements from school and SMS from MOH to register my child for vaccine. I prayed hard to stem my anxiety and worries, and plough through the net to gain more knowledge so that I can make an informed choice for my child. Having lost my dad, due to COVID-19, who was the first unlinked death case in Singapore on 29 March 2020 (case 109). I cannot help but to conduct my own due diligence to ensure that I am making the right choice for my child at the right tine. I do appreciate doctors who are bold and courageous to share their point of view, so that layman like me, can weigh the pros and cons for my child. I just took my Sinovac jab recently, as I did not have peace of mind with the mRNA technology. Next, I have history of chronic eczema. Having said that, I have family members who took the mRNA jabs, as they are in the high risk category, I.e vulnerable elderly. Last but not least, I pray that our government and policy makers can have the acute discernment to make the right choice, and take the right action at the right time. Our children are not in the high risk category. Please hold our horses for now and not hurry our children to be placed in the mRNA vaccine camp. Every life counts. We can u-turn a policy, such as wearing masks, but we cannot u-turn a life or damage done.

This is not for myself. This is for our next generation and the future generations to come.

Agree to hold the vaccination for the younger generation till further research has been conducted and proven safe.
