Council should be focussing on eastablishing the infrastructure in Winsford to accommodate the house building, as opposed to building a prison.

A PRISON IN WINSFORD WHOSE BRIGHT IDEA WAS THAT. TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO LIVE HERE NOT DISCOURAGED.

This is not an ideal place for a prison. Transport links to the area are not ideal there has been little invested into new transport links. The area needs investment in a new shopping zone not a prison.

Winsford deservedly has an improving reputation but it has been a long haul. A prison in Wisford would just feed the long out of date stereotype of the town.

I am sure there are lots of areas within Cheshire/Chester that are away from towns that could be utilised for a prison. Winsford doesn't have a good reputation as it is without having a prison on our doorstep.
WI'll the government pay house owners the difference in valuations when they drop due to a prison in the area?
Perhaps the government should look at education to prevent crime rather than dealing with offenders after the fact?
If this was Alderley Edge, or 'down south' in Surrey, New Forest or Oxfordshire it wouldn't happen!

A prison would not enhance the town of Winsford. We need to encourage businesses to the area to improve the life of local people, their chances of a job and prospects for their long term future. The industrial estate - is that an 'INDUSTRIAL ESTATE' for jobs....

I do not believe Winsford to be a good place to have a prison. It is an area that already has a high level of deprecation and employment. What is needed is manufacturing an I feel a prison would discourage this.
