Call on Cheshire West and Chester Council to consult on proposed prison in Winsford

How can businesses be expected to move onto Winsford Ind Estate which creates jobs with a prison on there? Why does Northwich get a new facelift and Winsford get a prison?

I'm trying sell house, no chance with a prison on my door step.

We do not want this prison, it is a discrace that it has even been considered. There has been no contact with the residents living near the industrial estate. Do we not count?.

No way do we want a Prison to be built in Winsford, I have worked on the Ind. Est since 1980, it is not a suitable place for such an establisment.

Not only do they want to flood the town with houses, they want to put permanent traveller sites in and around the town. Now to top it they want a prison!! But other towns in area get leisure and shopping. Dumping ground is what winsford has become. The poor relative of the county

How can something so controversial, highly emotional and no doubt a downright security risk be thought so non important that the residents of the town should not be told about it. Were the councillors so naive that they thought no one would raise an eyebrow!!! An absolute outrage. I presume the amount of money they (CWAC) will undoubtedly receive for this venture outweighs any commitment to the local residents to provide a better town to actually live in. The heart was ripped out of the town in the 70's when the dual carriageway was built and has never recovered. What we need is true regeneration to make residents feel proud to live in Winsford not something that Is going to make every one of us feel utterly ashamed to say where we live. Why can't we have a vibrant town, it is not beyond the realms of possibility. Start with the town centre not a bloody prison!!!!!!!!!!

I understand that prison have to be allocated somewhere , but Winsford i don't think is the best place

I think it's disgusting, as ms Sandbach said its a industrial estate for new employment for people in this town and nearby,I am very annoyed at this,what kind of council have we voted for to pull a fast one like this!.

Winsford is littered with poor planning, the shopping centre and bypass are classic examples of the total disregard that previous councils have for Winsford a prison on our doorstep will just top it off.

I think as a trader and renter of Cheshire west this is appalling we already have difficulty in making a living in Winsford due to the terrible state of the precinct and how many people want to travel or live in an area that has a prison do you shop near strange ways? Wholly against this

Winsford needs shops and restaurants not a prison. All these new houses being built bring spending into the town. A prison would not benefit the town and I feel it would have a negative impact on house prices. Please tell anybody you know to sign the petition.

We thought the housing recently was a good idea that came to the area and always hoped that the precinct we have been putting up with as residents may be redesigned bringing new shops to the area but to hear that a prison is imminent is a blow how do we expect companies to invest in the area and as an estate agent manager I know that it is difficult enough for houses in this area to be sold especially resales from people out of the area who would want to purchase in an area with a prison certainly not me and I wholly object

You should not build a prison in Winsford it's against the residents rights build out in the sticks where prisoners deserve to be don't ruin our town the people of Winsford don't want this and we should have the right to be listened to
