I am incensed at this decision.
So much for a democracy and listening to the people.
Why is it always places like Winsford and Crewe who have to it up with this type of thing? Build it in Alderley Edge or Wilmslow. See if you can get away with it there. No. You wouldn't. Because money talks.

I live near the proposed area with my 4 year old. I do not think the location is appropriate at all!! Really angry that no one has asked the publics opinion on this.

We need to be building things that are more beneficial for the citizens of Winsford, the prison will be an eyesore and create a bad name for the town.

As a long time Winsford resident the thought of a prison in such a small but thriving town can't be positive. Following a decade of nice new houses being built and the expansion/population that comes with positive development, why destroy it with this. Terrible news for the residents.

The town of winsford is up and coming. Slightly rural with a great community. A prison would spoil our town and myself for one would be the first to sell up (if the prison didn't put people off buyin) and move.
It would have a knock on affect in the town house prices etc

I live Cheshire East but I would think at the minimum a public consultation should take place on such an important decision particularly when a town needs more investment
