Call it by its true name: declare Global Climate Emergency now

I endorse that UN should declare Climate emergency, but it is for the political leadership of all the countries to realise how critical the situation is. And we should work for pressurising our own governments.

If Humans don't learn to live without unlimited development and reduce consumerism in their daily and long life the Life on Earth is going to face disastrous consequences. People from all countries need to rise against such attitude of rich Nations and rich people.

Yes, it is an emergency,even though the rulers refuse to open their eyes to the climate crisis.

We expect UN to take the lead once again, like it has done in the past. Eradication of many a diseases from various continents is a testimony to what it has done. UN needs to rise up again!

I have been a supporter of ZPG since the 1960's. In 1998 I first heard the phrase "We are a plague Species' Not much progress has been made.

Petteri Taalas (World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Secretary-General) (2018): “We are not on track to meet climate change targets and rein in temperature increases. Greenhouse gas concentrations are once again at record levels and if the current trend continues we may see temperature increases 3-5°C by the end of the century. If we exploit all known fossil fuel resources, the temperature rise will be considerably higher. It is worth repeating once again that we are the first generation to fully understand climate change and the last generation to be able to do something about it” - a Climate Emergency indeed.

This is high time to take action to save our world; we can't wait till 2041.

With the little hope that I have in national governments & the UN, with a little hope that corporates will look beyond business interest, I urge all involved to recognize our global situation as a Climate Emergency to avoid a Climate Catastrophe.
