Many families have left the Phantoms organization. With a strong board, we can meet the interests of families and help the Phantoms grow. Here is an opportunity for your voice to be heard and help in this effort.
The Delco Phantoms Ice Hockey Board which operates at IceWorks in Aston, PA does not have bylaws published on its website or available for distribution to its hockey members. Pennsylvania law requires nonprofit corporations to have a board of directors, which is responsible for managing the organization. Every board must have a president, secretary, and a treasurer, although one individual may perform more than one role. The board may draft bylaws, which will provide how new board members may be added or removed from the board. If no bylaws are in place, Pennsylvania law provides that each board member will only serve for one year. Board members have the responsibility of acting in the best interest of the nonprofit, meaning they may not advance their own financial interests while serving the board, and they must make informed financial decisions for the organization.
According to this law, the existing board members of the Delco Phantoms are expired, and the below signed hockey families request an immediate meeting and election of the board to take place no later than October 27, 2016 at IceWorks in Aston, PA. This meeting will be posted on the Phantoms website and published (emailed) to all Delco Phantoms members (which means all families with children registered for all levels of Phantoms hockey, managers, and existing board members) at a minimum two weeks prior to the meeting. Nominations from the floor will be open to the general membership at the election, and can only include individuals who have children playing for the Phantoms.
If such action is not taken, the signers to this petition will report this violation to the State of Pennsylvania.

Their needs to be more transparency on how the organization is operating. The organization is the hockey families and they need to have a say in the leaders that help run the program.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to read the petition and sharing your frustrations. Just to note to others that read this petition, this is about transparency and making sure that everyone is following the rules. WE need a strong board and we need to make sure that EVERY hockey family is adequately represented. This is all the petition is asking. We encourage people to participate in this process and allow an open election and meeting to all families. This is not about changing coaches. It is about having a strong and respected Phantoms club.
Please do not consider this a signature for this petition. I will not support a man that QUIT on us as head coach of the team after evaluations. This is a disgrace. We were left with nothing over the summer because of him. No matter what spin he is trying to put on everything, he QUIT on our team, not because of the board, it was because he decided that his kid was too good to play with our kids. He changed his mind and now is attacking and degrading others in order to save face. He QUIT on our team! I think changes need to be made to the board, I am sure that could be said for every hockey organization, but I am not going to support it through a guy that QUIT on our team at the worst possible moment. He needs to stop this non-sense, apologize to the team, and let us enjoy the season. He is continually dragging us into this mess he created when he QUIT on our kids. Please stop the stupid emails bashing others, stop making youth hockey about YOU and let the kids play. We love our new coach, we love our team, we hate the constant drama that he is creating. It is about the kids, not you. Think about it and do the right thing.

I would love to run for president. I was forced to leave the ducks after paying for my son to play for a team that didn't exist. I hate what I see going on with these organizations and I will tirelessly work to make sure every child has a great expirrence playing youth hockey. I'm all in with you guys. Joe
Have many issues but ours mainly is that there is no assistance for goalies. NO COACHING OR DISCOUNT!!!
