Call for enforcement action regarding development at 1 Quarry High Street

This build took about 12 years between planning permission and a start on the foundations being laid. it was noted at the time that the foundations looked very large for the plot of land, concer was shown when a builders fence was erected in the next door council owned property, throughout the build process concerns were raised with the local planning department,but, no action was taken for a long time. towards the end of the build i noticed that approximatly 1.2 meters of metal railings had been removed from the playing field and were at one time lent against a temporary fence, this section of railing eventually disappeared and a tall stone wall was built which was if fact on land not belonging to the persons that owned the building site. i class this as theft of part of the Quarry/Town peoples assets and action should be taken to reverse this land grab.

The old Vallis building is beautiful. The hideous monstrosity next to it is just another level of wrong

This monstrosity is completely out of place in Quarry and is certainly not in keeping with this Conservation Area. How has this development been allowed.

Nobody should be above the law.

This development is an eyesore and never should have been built at that scale.

Do your job and enforce the law

Looks a complete eyesore and totally out of character with its surroundings. How on earth are Oxford city council allowing this development to go ahead. If this was an individual they would insist on demolition and enforce it. Makes you wonder ??

Building does not meet planning regulations. It is too high and corner of building nearest the road protrudes onto pavement. Existing stone wall has removed to try and hide this fact.

This is appalling; a monstrous building in a conservation area. How can this be allowed to continue?

This building makes a mockery of the conservation area. Who is accountable and how did this happen?

The size and nature of this building are clearly out of keeping with the local area, a conservation area.

The building is very large and certainly differs from the plans, this is very disappointing in our conservation area

The correct Planning procedures have not been correctly met by the Developer. It isn’t a case of NIMBYism here but a need to expose the failings by The Oxford City Council Enforcement. Plus, Headington Quarry is a Conservation Area (appraisal given by Oxford City Council!) and what has been constructed flies in the face of this !

Unbelievable! Disgraceful that a building of this size & height has been squeezed into this area of Quarry. It clearly differs from the plans & questions need to be asked well before completion!!! I would be furious if my property was near to this.

i agree with the previous comments that this building is totally unsuitable. Furthermore if it is not in line with the plans that were submitted it is essential that the developer be made to alter it, as an indication that planning laws are taken seriously.

Horrible huge eyesore

It is completely out of place and too big for the footprint of the land.

The architecture is out of style with it's surroundings and the building is too big for the space.
