This should not come to Maui let alone Lahaina. Children who go to King Kam III who do not catch bus have to walk by here and they are on their own. Are the going to assign police in this area before and after to insure that no one does any harm to these children? This area is next to a known beach (Baby Beach) which tourist and locals alike visit on a daily basis. Are these homeless people going to have an impact on this beach? It's also located by 2 malls in Lahaina and the top rated luau in Lahaina. Do our tourist and locals need to see homeless people hanging out more? I just cannot see the positive in any of this.

This is not located in an area that will benefit anyone especially the homeless. This need to be located near medical and mental government assistance and work can be available to these folks that need and deserve a chance to better there lives. We also need to not turn away and be a part of the solution by volunteering and donations.

Why should we help people who do not want to help themselves.everyone chooses the lives they live.we have a homeless shelter.what more do they need. There's so much programs to assist the needy.

I say no because of safety of our children,women and men who walks pass there ever night just trying to get home,it Hurst our visual towards tourism attraction, sanitation,drug useres ect there's so much problems that could go wrong,

Local families who are working need land. The homeless camp will only be a place of corruption and filth. Who will monitor this place and control traffic. The homeless people need to learn skills to live in house structures like the working class people. Why would you allow them to continue to live homeless in Hawaii new. Seems like you are rewarding them for being lazy.

I am not in favor of having this project for the homeless in the suggested location. It is all very nice to have good intentions to help the needy but homeowners in this area need to feel safe in their homes with their families too. These homeowners and renters have worked very hard be able to live in their homes.

No on the camp. It is a Band-Aid solution to a much larger problem. Take the year to plan and implement a solution that makes sense for all involved. Don't put a tent city next to places where children are present.

Lived through the 70's with the homeless on Maui. Certainly not wanting to see a repeat of that! does not give residents a safe environment..
