This camp will only attract more derelicts to the island-saw this type of movement in the 1970's when word got out that one could go from the airplane to the welfare office to get assistance-huge financial burden

The Hawaiian Islands should not be viewed as a place that the less fortunate can go seeking refuge. To do so would encourage an influx that would soon become unmanageable.

Don't need camps like that in areas where children are always around. Lahaina don't need more alcohol, drugs surrounding our families.

I currently live in south Lahaina right next to puamana.being a witness to fires, rapes and unwanted activities that goes on around my neighborhood can be prevented.i have two babies.a 2 and 1 yr old.i m very sure that I don't want them to be around these uncontrollable strangers that are slowly taking over our home called Lahaina.you should send them to Kahoolawe where they can do whatever they want.not in our town that we call home

People is taking advantage on the EBT and free medical. And they come here cause their state can't handle them? So we get stuck with them and don't give a shit about us "working people". The crime rate will go up and no tourist won't come here at all.

Not a good idea... i have first hand knowledge on what goes on in places like this from here in lahaina by the cannery and behind the pool area and up above puamana. Even in Waianae and Maili area... its all the same. Not putting value in their way of life and abuse all over in everything they do. For the ones that are clean and want to make that honest effort.. they can go to the shelter and have a bed with certain stipulations like getting a job and chores. What goes on in places like that is not productive or positve. It really needs to be thought thru.

This is not an appropriate location for this venue, for the homeless nor the present homeowners. This venue needs to be in an area that is whole heartily acceptable to both parties. This will ensure a comfortable living environment for everyone.
