We are concerned for their safety on the highway, trespassing and loitering at our homes.

A very, very BAD idea! I wonder who will benefit from this plan. I do not see it being the people that will stay at this "camp", the people of Lahaina, the businesses of Lahaina, the police of Lahaina, tourists of Lahaina, and not the tourists that would have come to Lahaina. Besides the unknown person(s) or organization whom would benefit, I think Tripadvisor might also benefit!

Laguna Beach has installed a homeless shelter, and they now have to contend with aggressive begging, sanitation issues, alcohol and drug abuse and more! do not inflict this on our quiet neighborhood, PLEASE!!

Several comments suggest the project reside at Mr. Martin's large oceanfront Olowalu second home estate. FYI, at the initial meeting at his home I did propose to the Foundation and him personally that his property be used as the venue for his Foundation's tent camp.

Please don't devalue my land there are plenty of other places on the island plus the potential for crimes

My granddaughters live very near there!! Have they screened these people for crimes against children?!!! Do they screen them from drugs and alcohol?!! How can anyone feel safe with this camp in their backyards?!!!!

Further investigation must be done to determine the wisdom and safety of this plan. Environmentally unsound.

I am opposed to the plan!!!!! It should not happen. Relocate them to an area adjacent to the county jail!

This location does not give the temporary residents access to any county programs for food, medical care, financial guidance, etc. The camp is ill planned and in an entirely wrong area to be of use to the homeless.
