Teach a man to fish...Education is key for all aspects here. Let the homeless have a voice about what they need to rise above living in a homeless camp. There is solution...it just takes a little more communication with those that are willing to speak. We need to listen.

This kind of camp would not be good for Lahaina and the many tourists that enjoy this area.

I am opposed to this encampment as it is currently proposed. The solution to the problem of homelessness in Maui and the Islands in total should be a coordinated effort.

Although I am sympathetic to the concerns of the disenfranchised population on Maui I am not in favor of the proposed homeless encampment along the Kahalau Stream. The solution lies in a combined efforts of the state and city governments hand-in-hand with private community minded organizations and individuals. The homeless problems exists in nearly every community in the United States. A piecemeal approach is not the answer.

we never had such thing as homelessness its all about what they call affordable housing. Not so the community pays all the way around you need to help those that is not living with a drug addiction needs to be separated so the people can have proper servicea And the problem is high rental prices so. foreigners come and charge ridiculous prices and we get caught in it. LOWER HOUSE RENTAL not apartments Polynesian not born to live the american life. Our kupuna made our templates and others jealous of the way we think and live. NO FORCE no slavery in Hawaii we know how to speak for ourselvea thank you

Although some workable solution to be beneficial to both local land owners and the homeless is a desirable goal, this is not the project.

Hell NO! No Camp! COM cannot even keep up with the problem now! Send all the imports back to where they came from and you will see our Homeless numbers go down. They are all on welfare so you know where they came from. You cannot even help families on Maui but you can help imports! Go figure!

Need further assessments on potential negative impacts including but not limited to social, economic, environmental, public health & public safety. Need more public input!
