This petition is to convince the County of San Bernardino not to demolish a 3 story dome house in Calico Ghost Town and approve a Bed and Breakfast to opperate in it.

A proposal was submitted to the Regional Parks Department to establish a Bed and Breakfast in the 3 story dome house, that is currently being used by Calico Ghost Town to store some decorations and misc. things.  The county has owned it since 1997 and hasn't done anything to complete the construction on the inside or outside.  It is written in the proposal that the construction to finish the inside and outside of the building and all things needed for the bed and breakfast would be the sole responsibilty of the proposing party.  The proposal has been declined on the basis that the county is unsure of what to do with the building and that the county, due to economic related reasons, does not have the resources to complete the construction.  The county's alternative is to demolish the building, which would cost money.   The simple solution is to approve the Bed and Breakfast.  This would bring in much needed revenue to the county through the monthly lease agreement and also through the added tourist and guest staying at the Bed and Breakfast that would be visiting and shopping in Calico Ghost town.  If the county doesn't lease the building, there is no revenue.  If the county decides to demolish it, it would cost money.  We feel that a Bed and Breakfast is the best solution.
