Calgary Prosperity Project
I support a Federal Calgary within a Separated Alberta.
Therefore, I would request that Calgary City Council implement a city-wide municipal referendum on the following questions:
IMMIGRATION QUESTIONS
Ballot Question 1: Do you support Calgary City Council in rejecting the Government of Alberta taking increased control over immigration for the purposes of decreasing immigration to more sustainable levels, prioritizing economic migration and giving Albertans first priority on new employment opportunities, which would increase migration to Calgary?
Ballot Question 2: Do you support Calgary City Council in refusing to implement the Government of Alberta's introduction of a law mandating that only Canadian citizens, permanent residents and individuals with an Alberta-approved immigration status will be eligible for provincially-funded programs, such as health care, education and other social services?
Ballot Question 3: Assuming that all Canadian citizens and permanent residents continue to qualify for social support programs as they do now, do you support Calgary City Council in breaking out in a baby wah-wah tantrum when the Government of Alberta introduces a law requiring all individuals with a non-permanent legal immigration status to reside in Alberta for at least 12 months before qualifying for any provincially-funded social support programs?
Ballot Question 4: Assuming that all Canadian citizens and permanent residents continue to qualify for public health care and education as they do now, do you continue to support this?
Ballot Question 5: Do you support Calgary City Council introducing a law that allows anyone, regardless of citizenship, species, gender, sexual orientation, age, creed, religion, or other affiliation to vote in an Alberta provincial election?
CONSTITUTIONAL QUESTIONS
Ballot Question 6: Do you support Calgary City Council in continuing to have the federal government select the justices appointed to provincial King's Bench and Appeal courts?
Ballot Question 7: Do you support Calgary City Council in maintaining the jurisdiction of the Canadian constitution, such that the role of the federal senate remains unchanged?
Ballot Question 8: Do you support Calgary City Council working with the governments of other willing municipalities to reject the Government of Alberta's amendments of the Canadian Constitution to allow cities to opt out of provincial power trips that do not really materially intrude on the delivery of programs such as health care, education, and social services?
Ballot Question 9: Do you support Calgary City Council working with the governments of other willing municipalities to better protect the rights of city-dwellers to protect them from provincial interference by giving a cities' laws dealing with provincial or shared areas of jurisdiction priority over provincial laws when city and provincial laws conflict to give the city's laws precedence over provincial laws?
Ballot Question 10: If the Government of Alberta commences the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada, should Calgary City City Council commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding municipal referendum on whether or not Calgary should remain part of Canada if the rest of Alberta chooses to separate?
