Caldicot Cross and Church Road Redevelopment

very dangerous for pedestrians and car crash by the joke they have done on a blind bend by the Castle pub, what CLOWN designed this new layout

The whole rd needs resurfacing and signage as to who has right of way.

Road narrowing is beyond this is causing more traffic build up. Specially from Sandy lane to church road! More houses built up too end of caldicot and more restrictions on the main road from the top end of caldicot. Accident waiting to happen with road narrowing on a bend and pedestrianised!! Whole road is a waste of our money and workmanship is atrocious. Should never been allowed to happen and local councillors should be sacked for the amount of money wasted

I had a near miss by the castle pub I was going through the narrow bit when a car came around the Bend and mounted the curb well what curb there is and carried on going if someone was coming out of the castle they would’ve been in trouble

My daughter was on her scooter didn't understand that it was a road if it wasn't for to shouting at her to stop she would of gotten run over by a car. Very dangerous

What a fiasco. Typical of this council.They have not got a clue.When they had an open day in the village I pointed the problems with the bus stops at the junction and the safety aspects.How they chose the Griffin company to do the work is beyond me.Also I hope they will resurface Church road because it must be the worst in the county. Also once again what is the Town council doing.Nothing as usual.

Please also resurface the whole of Church Road from the Cross through, and including, the roundabout at Taff Road. It made no sense to do those small sections and leave the rest full of potholes.

The narrowing of Church Road is dangerous. It needs signage to show who has priority, like the signs further up the road which makes it obvious and drivers obey. Also desperately need a pedestrian crossing into the village. Traffic does NOT slow down and I have had several near misses when trying to cross. I really hope it won’t take an accident for common sense to prevail.

Its dangerous at the Cross now that there isn't a crossing for pedestrians. Church Road was bad enough before on that corner, now it is just dangerous!

After how many months of roadworks we're left with a road that is dangerous and not fit for purpose.

Tragic accident waiting to happen.

The new development has been ill conceived and poorly executed. The design team had a vision and tried to make the environment fit that. I have seen more confrontations and near misses here, than there ever where before.,

There are numerous safety aspects regarding this road but Monmouthshire CC need to meet residents and local regular road users to sort these issues before there is a tragic accident.

It's a shambles. Who designed this?

My father was a GP in Caldicot and would be horrified by the lack of safety in this development. Sounds like new risk assessment needed pronto and obvious improvements needed before some one is seriously injured or killed
