Finally someone has stepped up and created a petition. We are not paying an extortionate amount of money for an incomplete, unacceptable experience.

I am in C block and have been woke almost every morning at 8 or 9, i wake up to drilling and hammering which cause me headaches, i cant even walk about my flat in comfort as im not sure if the builders will be haviong a casual chat in my hallway or standing outside my windows. Getting on of off the site is ridiculous closing of paths that make you late for lectures. Then you have the fire alarms that go off so often! whats the point of having an alarm if everyone ignores it because they think its another bloody test! We need more then a party where we are going to get ourselves even more into debt, in case Byron hadn't noticed were students and aren't made of money! Thanks :)

It's just ridiculous tbh, anything that could possibly go wrong has gone wrong an it's like they're taking the piss now, the ongoing building works waking me up every single morning and if not that then it's stupid fire alarm testing! I've had enough of this crap

Constant fire alarm testing is a wind up. And being on the end of C block I get woken up by the work going on down below every day, even Sundays :/

Not only has there been multiple problems with things within the flat and noise from the building work, but nothing ever gets done in order to solve it!

Heavy machinery used everyday before 9am in bonington yard wakes me every morning, we have had boarding up over a window that was due to be replaced in the 2nd week of term that still hasn't been sorted, privacy film that ruined a nice view from the kitchen on our other window, apparently we have some kitchen furniture still to arrive, builders needing access to our rooms, the rooms aren't fitted with soundproof windows which makes it impossible to sleep during climax until after 4am, drilling to the underside of our block that has been happening since the start of term, builders making my visiting girlfriend feel uncomfortable. Need I say more?

We've received only 2/3 of what we've paid for and would appreciate this to be reflected in a partial refund.

The amount we are paying for our accommodation is ridiculous given the fact it isn't even completed. And on top of this the fact that we were woken up at annoying hours of the morning by drilling, and additionally items in many peoples flat and my own were broken when we arrived.

The whole of our first term has been disrupted by noise, faults and general inconveniences due to the building works not being finished on time. Refunds should be given from the extremely high amount we have paid for a half finished accommodation.

The first term is over.... And the work is still on going. Where was the notices and warning telling everyone that moves into Byron that the construction wouldn't be complete? I booked Byron with the promise of this being the bests student accommodation available... With no disruptions. But, I find myself paying over £6000 for a shambles of an accommodation. Being woken up at ridiculous times, with the noise carrying on through till night. if I want to chill, sleep or study in my room in silence.... I should be able to. What makes it worse is that even with my window CLOSED I am still being disturbed. Heck... I shouldn't even be forced to have to close it. If I want it open then I should... But with the building work and noise, how is this possible? How is it fair that Gill Street South are paying the same amount of money, for the same features and specs as Byron Residence.... Yet I don't see them being frustrated and annoyed at the building work. And, why is it only people in B and G block get compensation? I'm in A block... A,B and G block are all living right above the work? Where's my compensation at? Wish I never chose Byron now its all been a big mess.

To begin, my radiator and fire alarm was faulty when I moved in which I complained about four times.. Each!! Was only sorted when I met the head of accomodation. More importantly my floor vibrates on a Saturday night because the SU is so loud, let alone the noise. The only 'compensation' they offered me, unlike b block, was to move which I could only do if someone wanted the pleasure of paying my contact and moving in..

ridiculous paying thousands to live in a building site, being woken up in the morning, having to walk long way rounds to avoid falling bricks, being kept awake by the su club, cleaners not fully cleaning.

Not only is it the construction which has caused disturbance but also the ongoing noise from the SU!
