I would love to have a few hens in my backyard to feed my family, as well as teach my kids self sufficiency/responsibilities. :)

This is desperately needed! 4-6 hens would be a great solution. Why can Port Elgin and other areas do this and not Mildmay??

I just moved to Teeswater. It is a beautiful town and I believe having backyard "hens" would be a great addition to quality of life in the community.

What is Canada's definition of an urban area?
The definition of urban includes all persons residing in cities, towns and villages of 1000 population or more, whether incorporated or unincorporated, as well as the population of all parts of the census metropolitan areas. ((Do these areas even have this many people?))

It is crazy that we are not allowed chickens in Formosa, Teeswater and Mildmay yet they are allowed in larger urban areas with smaller lots such as Toronto and Kitchener.

Backyard Chickens should be allowed up to a certain number, a ban on Chickens sets a bad president for personal freedom.

Change the by-law to allow backyard chickens! O think it's a shame that people from the city are getting away with telling us farm folks what to do.
Chickens don't hurt anyone, they help feed families( lord knows we need all the help we can get with that).

Providing food for oneself should be allowed. Keeping Poultry in a safe manner is what should be governed, not weather or not we can have it.

I believe people in small community s. Should be allowed to raise a few children s all the kids love watching them and they all learn from having chickens we all can't afford to have big farms so a few chickens won't hurt anyone so let them have there chickens in Formosa no difference than having 2 dogs and 3 cats

People have the right to feed themselves and provide for their families. Growing food (chickens, meat rabbits, gardens, etc...) shouldn't need a petition!

I don’t understand why they are not allowed already, there are major cities that allow them. Makes no sense

This blows my mind that backyard chickens are not allowed ! You have a right to feed your family. No one should be allowed to take away that ability. Times are tough right now, we are all just trying to survive .
