Bandwidth theft is a growing problem on the web today. Many sites are having their bandwidth stolen from them without even knowing about it. Images, sound files, video clips, etc. are all being hot-linked by bandwidth theives costing website owners money & causing some websites to exceed their bandwith allowance causing their sites to temporarily shut down for hours at a time.
Direct linking from your website to someone elses files is WRONG!
There IS something you can do!
It is rather easy to find out if someone is stealing your bandwidth and there are actions you can take if you find that someone is stealing from you.
Please show your support by signing this petition and in the process help others to become more aware of how to stop and prevent bandwidth theft!
Please visit the WebWatch link provided for more information on how to stop internet bandwidth theft.
Thank you.
The current volume of signatories has reached a level that allows us to present a formal briefing to major hosting service providers. I am now finalizing the draft of our technical proposal for bandwidth protection protocols to be submitted by the end of the week.

Seen this happen to so many sites. People think the internet is a free for all but they need to learn some basic respect for creators.

My server goes down every month because of this. People just assume they can take what they want and it kills the small guy. Need to stop this.
