I don’t think this new law is about lack of long term rentals, I think it’s more about certain people not wanting their town to change and grow. More tourism will bring more money to the town which in turn will bring more business, more jobs and more housing (apt buildings) to house the employees. This makes no sense and is only hurting the communities growth. I think new blood that has a forward thinking mindset should be brought into the board.

Why not build affordable housing instead of decimating a local economy.

My wife and I are small business owners that rely on our short term rental to support our income. We believe our rental helps bring money into the community and we're happy with the taxes we pay to our community. Please do not impose the 50% regulation on our livelihood.

Short term rentals are vital to our local economy! Welcoming tourists to our area is the backbone of our meager economy. Please leave STRs alone and do not regulate them. If you want to solve the affordable housing crisis, this is not the way to do it. Since 50% of properties in the town are second homes, those homes will sit vacant if not rented short term and our local economy will be missing the huge revenue visitors provide.

Please create a sensible plan for the future of short term rentals in Olive. The benefits for the community are immense and poorly planned regulation could hurt what would continue for years being a boon for the towns revenue as well as employment opportunities.

Limiting STR is not the town's answer to affordable housing in the area. It will only make things worse as commerce will decline with STR restrictions.

STR's allow visitors to discover the wonders of the Catskills and the Hudson Valley. These visitors then patronize the local businesses. Keep STR's in place, they help to fuel the local economy!

I question where the 50% loss if business comes from, it might be more. Include the link to the Town website for the proposed law.

Mention that the real problem is the Town's lack of PUBIC NUISANCE LAWS which address the issues, whereas preventing STR does not achieve a solution to the problems.

Limiting commerce to the area is not a good idea. Very sad to see we actually have to give this type of advise to our elected officials.
