The local transit authorities just confirmed they are aligning fare policies with the law and extending child rates to age 18. This win belongs to every one of you who demanded fairness for our students. Keep an eye on your local routes to ensure they implement these changes immediately.
Make Bus Fares, Fair For Us!
We aim to change the laws and ethics that bus companies use in areas all over the country. When you turn 16 in the eyes of the law you are still a minor but in the eyes of the bus companies we are adults! I say this is not right we should only have to pay for a child's fare up to the age of 18 not to the age of 16. The government have decided that everyone has to stay in education until they are 18 this means that it will give 16 and 17 year olds less time to make the money to throw away on the abysmal bus prices! Join this petition to stop this in the Preston and Blackpool area and if we reach 100,000 signatures we can get it discussed in parliament and hopefully get this changed by law!
Bus companies are forcing students to pay adult prices while we are still required to be in full-time education. Send a quick email to your local representative today to demand they address this gap in the law. Post the link to this petition on your Facebook wall so we can put more pressure on these transit authorities.

Totally agree with this. If you are in full time education you should be paying child fare no matter what.

The law says keep them in school till 18 but charge them like adults for the bus. Makes no sense at all.
