We the undersigned agree that, with the abolition of EMA and recent rises in living costs, the cost of travel to college presents a major obstacle to young people accessing further education and therefore social mobility.

We would like Blackpool Transport and Blackpool Council to work together in order to help us access our future by either extending the Wave Card to up to 19 years (on presentation of valid student ID) or introducing a student rate onto Blackpool buses.

Updates

April 24, 2012

Blackpool Transport and the Council are still dodging our emails while students struggle to pay for the bus just to get to class. Their silence is a pathetic attempt to ignore the fact that they are actively pricing us out of our own education. We are not going away until they actually sit down and fix this mess.

PLEASE. It costs me half my weekly wage just to get to college every day. Something needs to change.

total joke. the council needs to actually support the local kids instead of just talking about it. extend the wave card already.

busses are way to expensive for students right now. how are we supposed to get to our classes if we keep having to pay these prices
