Burlingame Quiet Zone -- NO TRAIN HORNS AT NIGHT

The blaring of the horn in Burlingame is excessive and unnecessary. There are plenty of examples of trains that runaround the clock and don’t have this volume and frequency of horns blaring.

I can't believe we even have to file a petition for this! It is common sense and trains should not be allowed to use their horns at night.

The train horn noise especially made by freight trains is so unbearable. Action is needed NOW!

My family moved here this summer and were stunned and dismayed to discover the Caltrain and especially the freight train noise. During a house hunting trip from out of state, we sought a place that would be public transit accessible so that we could save traffic and gas. We visited our favorite place on a Sat and Sun day with a train schedule in hand to gauge noise. We feel so misled to learn the freight train runs 11pm - 5am. It's not something we could have learned during a visit, and it wasn't in sale disclosures despite being a material factor that might have changed our decision to live here!

hi, problem with train dept, nobody there. want to file complaint about trains but nobody can direct me to them and phone numbers are total junk nobody answers it and want businesses to be deindexed for this this is not the american way to do business time for change, all people in usa have cell phones no more 48 hours for call back back when i was in school if you talked to nobody there[voicemail] you were put in the nut house. but these trains are breaking the law and want it to stopped. no more trains in usa get over it bad for our climate and the biggest total pigs in business. our goverment let them get away with what ever they wanted our leaders are so weak that they let them break the law now its time for them to pay for this and remove them from our country they even needed a bailout what a joke of a company time to grow a pair and put them in there place they are not above the law like they think they are so get rid of them now the biggest low-lifes of usa.

The train horn noise has become so unbearable and so unnecessary, even with the crossing guards down to justify being so loud. It's a CalTrain issue and the City of Burlingame is not addressing it. Not to mention the freight trains, and all of that often late at night, including CalTrain maintenance work which gives us sleepless nights. Burlingame is not the peaceful place I moved to more than 20 years ago. It is now a faceless place with no identity fit for foodies looking to stuff their faces. Welcome Wahlburgers, NOT! I didn't ask for this place to set foot here! I am longing to hear birds singing in the morning instead of train and construction noises. I am ready to move away from here. It's time to turn my back on Burlingame as it is not the place it once was.

I'm considering moving to Burlingame, but am worried about this. I know this was posted back in 2016. Have the sounds gotten better at all?

There's no peace at all with those horns! It is constant, obnoxious, & unnecessary. It seems like an intentional disruption of the peace.

The horns are unbearably loud at night and each horn lasts at least 3 seconds. It's like having an alarm o'clock constantly ringing and it keeps waking me up after midnight :(

Please god almighty stop tootin those horns. At the very least, do the actual "3 small toots" that law requires. Why they gotta hold the horn on for so long?
