Talking to the families who suffered under Burge makes it clear that my frustration is shared by so many across this city. I spend my evenings reading your messages and thinking about how we are still funding the man who destroyed so many lives with our own tax dollars.

Seeing this momentum grow proves that people will no longer ignore the injustice of this pension being funded by our own pockets. It is painful to think of what those victims endured while their abuser continues to be supported by the city. We are forcing a conversation that should have happened decades ago.

It's outrageous that taxpayers are paying for this filth to retire. Even though the statute of limitations has run out (why is there a statute of limitations on torture?), there is no reason for taxpayers to pay for his legal fees an cushy retirement. In fact, if he keeps his pension, it should go directly to his victims.

How is this guy still getting a check from us? My taxes shouldn't go to fund someone who did that to people. Unbelievable.
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Why are we paying for his retirement when he spent his career ruining lives. Cut him off already.
Torture has no place in the CPD and he definitely shouldn't be profiting from it now. Fix this.

He should NOT receive any further pension considering this is a benefit reserved for those who fulfill their service obligation of "protecting and serving" the community honorably. His service or lack there of clearly does not meet that obligation. He should not receive taxpayer money for "contibuting to and carrying out abuse and corruption" in the community in which he was suppose to protect. Shame on him and may God have mercy on his merciless soul.
