Petition to Build the Subway Station on 41st St. and 10th Ave.
The West Midtown area of Manhattan is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the City. New York residents are highly dependent on public transportation and care about the environment so taking the subway eliminates the need to drive or rely on car services.
The MTA is extending the #7 line from Times Square and adding only one new station at Eleventh Avenue and 34th Street. The MTA has dropped its plans for a subway station at Tenth Avenue and 41st Street without consulting with anyone. Taxpayers are paying over one billion dollars to build the entire #7 line extension for just one stop!
We urge you to secure funding for a second subway station at 10th Avenue and 41st Street as part of the extension of the #7 subway line.

I was checking the total and saw we are almost at one thousand signatories which is wild because I remember when it was just me typing this up. If everyone who sees this sends the link to a handful of neighbors or local commuters maybe we can actually hit that mark before the end of the day.

I was looking at the map earlier and it just feels wild that we have this much momentum now when the planners thought nobody would notice they cut that stop. I really did not think this would take off like it has when I started typing this up at my kitchen table but here we are and people are actually listening.

I just looked at the count and we are almost at one hundred signatures which is honestly way faster than I expected when I started typing this out in my kitchen. If everyone here could get someone else to look at this link right now we might actually hit the mark before the week is totally gone and I have to go deal with my transit meeting.
