Build Better Elder Care

We do not want a new care facility of that size in port hope.

The proposed warehouse/storage facility is almost as big as their contempt for people.

We can do better

This is NOT the way to house seniors!!!!

Southbridge has more than demonstrated that they are a poor operator for a LTC home in Ontario. The President in a public meeting several years ago wined about how tough it is being in a “penny’s” business and how difficult it is to do some of the things the town wanted then to do. Bet the private investors received their investment return on time. The system is broken and the province doesn’t have the guts to fix it! There is no doubt that our aging population has and will have going forward a great need for good LTC. Just not this Group! Make then build better in a less crowded location much like their other locations.... even so they are not a very creditable operator.

Please do not allow Southbridge to build a block and a half from my house. This is wrong on so many fronts . I hope our council listens to us .

Not good for the seniors it is supposed to serve and will destroy the neighborhood.

This is the complete antithesis to how we should be caring for our elders. Have we learned nothing?

This inappropriate and non-complying building should not be allowed in this neighbourhood

It is shocking that our elected council is even considering approving such a monstrosity. They seem to be out of touch with their constituency - both seniors in the area who are in need of quality long-term care and residents of the neighbourhood and the town as a whole.

Will not fit into the area and will not properly serve seniors.

This is a ridiculous structure for that neighbourhood in Port Hope! New building should be no taller then the one that is being demolished.

This proposal is so out-of-scale for a residential neighbourhood. Please consider this precedent very cautiously.

Please stop this ill-advised scheme. Please don't reward this company - Southbridge homes achieved the highest Covid19 death rate in Ontario.

Let's keep neighbourhoods human-sized and seniors respected.

What a shameful example of caving in to the worst elements of LTC.

In our aging population ask yourself this-do you want to live in a prison like environment or do you want this for your elders. No! I am sure now-we must act.

We all deserve better!
