Agree. More people can benefit if the administration can finalize this earlier or if the budget is announced earlier. 24 March is hence just an arbitrary date and a fairer date should be set.

Hi people. First of all I would like to apologise if I offended anyone. We need to be rational as to why it was set on 24th March 2016.
As you can see, there are terms and condition to get the 3k. I agreed that you guys find it unfair and ridiculous. Let just see the big picture, the term and condition of the 3k CDA account is that you can't top up your CDA account till 1st July 2016. Definitely there are some paper work and implementation need to be done before releasing the funds. If you top up you don't qualify the 3k at all.
Problems : If the government backdate to Jan 2016. There will be people who had already top up complaining about it unfair the news came late, then what about them. Our government can't just change the date of release of funds, it will create more uproar then peace. I do hope that government can help those affect like maybe 1k - 1.5 instead of nothing. Peace.

Y babies born in d month of jan n feb r not entitled for the $3k. They all r born in d yr of 2016. Should b consider into it, really unfair for those babies n families.

This should be applied for the whole fy 2016...not in a specific date in March....but instead wef Jan 2016..just like the paternity leave.

This is totally unfair. How can a policy be set based on the announcement date instead of the start of a financial year? Does it also mean that we should time our baby according to the Budget announcement date too? Can we please have this policy relooked to apply to babies born since first Jan 2016
