Masks mandatory for all schools

Science cares not what people believe

The CDC and AAP masking guidelines are based on scientific facts. Please follow them. Remove ego and politics and protect kids so they can learn safely in the classroom without fear and anxiety of becoming infected and infecting others.

We want what’s safest for our community and we want our elected officials to follow the science. Just because one group is loud doesnt mean they are correct or are the majority.

We all want our children to have the opportunity to thrive in school. Following CDC and AAP guidance around masking for all unvaccinated individuals helps us to create a safe and sustainable return to in-person school.

This is a no brainer

Please make sure all children, teachers staff and their families stay safe by mandating mask wearing for all at school.

Science, safety and common sense should come first, especially when she doing with unvaccinated children.

As a pediatric RN, I feel this is a necessary step in addition to spacing out the students to lower rates of transmission.

The virus continues to adapt and mutate. It is positioned to sweep through the pediatric population, and we are seeing the first hints of this some states. Since this contagion will not be addressed by the adult population through accepting the best weapon, vaccination, we must resume mask-wearing if we want to have our children return to school safely. I fear, the next uncontrolled outbreak will force children to be homeschooled again and parents especially women will need to leave the workforce again. If politicians would have not politicized the virus and vaccinations, we would be in a position to meet herd immunity by now. This does not appear to be going to happen anytime soon. Thus, we all need to protect our children if we expect them to return to school. As a health care professional and educator, I have seen firsthand the breeding grounds provided to the virus: schools. I am pleased that the American Academy of Pediatrics is getting in front of the next potential pandemic: the pandemic of children unable to receive the vaccine.

Due the the increase of the Delta Variant world wide we need to take out part and keep our community safe. We are not far behind these other countries and it’s important to act now before its to late!
