Our goal is to reassess the policies associated with the collaborative program between University of Ottawa and Algonquin College in regards to the following: communication, video conferencing, exam scheduling, and electives. So many things need to be changed in order to give the BScN students in the collaborative program with Algonquin a better overall experience. Video conferencing courses are too late at night, no one can focus, there are always technical problems, and the elective options are very limited. We need more selection for the tuition that we pay.
The communication between the two schools needs to change. Waiting for textbooks for weeks because Ottawa University won't send them to the Algonquin bookstore. I've also got the runaround with financial aid in regards to bursaries available to Algonquin College students but not students in the BSCN program.
It would be great to see some improvement regarding electives. As of right now the students in the BSCN collaborative program in Pembroke have minimal options with electives. As students in this program deserve the same amount of opportunities as students attending the main campus in Ottawa, certain policies need a second look!
It would be wonderful to see some improvement revolving the video conferencing and exam schedules. Although this is a fantastic program, there is definite room for more communication between the college and University.
The video conferencing courses are ridiculous. We pay the same tuition as students at the Ottawa U campus and we don't even get a live professor. There are instructors at Algonquin Pembroke who teach courses like Psychology to other programs so we should be able to take these classes on campus with an instructor in class.
I support this petition. This is a compelling and important petition for voters in Ontario. Access to important education in this community is a valuable and important part of the formation of young students.
Elective options need to be expanded.

It would be at least an improvement to get a psychology professor at the college. It is mandatory and most students make it their elective second semester.
